	Acts of God Sends Team to Tarboro, North Carolina Acts of God team members Helen Bachman, Jim Brewington, and Barbara Humphreys traveled by air and car from Orange County, California to Tarboro, North Carolina to assist hurricane Floyd flood victims. From Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24, 1999, the team worked with Clotee Cherry, age 82, and Don Staton to move water-soaked furniture and other personal belongings out of their duplex homes on Martin Luther King Drive in Tarboro.

	Though the contaminated flood waters necessitated the discarding of all of Don's household contents, Clotee chose to save some clothing items, a very few sentimental possessions, and her family Bible. The team transported Clotee's valuables by pickup truck to the nearby home of Tom and Susan Moore for storage while the duplex is restored. Tom, a local attorney and property owner of the Cherry/Staton duplex, "rolled up sleeves" with the Acts of God team to expedite the renovation of the duplex for his tenants.
	Tom and Susan Moore, property owners, assure their tenant, Don Staton, that his home will be restored as quickly as possible. An Acts of God team helped Don remove his possessions from his home-all of which were a total loss.
	The trip was a physically arduous one for the team, yet highly successful at the same time. In one of the most memorable moments of the trip, Clotee told the team members on the second day of work, "When you're with me, my worries go away." Then on Sunday evening, with prayers and tears, the team member said good-bye to their newly-acquired friends in Tarboro. May God restore them, and may the friendships remain ongoing.
