They were born at 25 weeks, 15 weeks early.
- Austin weighed 1lb 8oz
- Braedon 1lb 11oz
- Caysen 1lb 13oz
- Austin and Braedon stayed 115 days in the NICU at Long Beach.
- Caysen stayed 125 days.
- Austin and Caysen suffered level 3 IVH (intraventricular Hemorrage) or Brain Bleeds.
The family was told on Caysens 2nd day of life that he was bleeding from his esophogus for 2 hours and would not live, but God had other plans.
- Caysen and Austin had Inguinal hernias and Umbilical hernias that they just had repaired a month ago.
- Caysen is still on oxygen and will probably be so for several months maybe until he is 2.
- Their Physical Therapist estimated their developmental age at 3 months, Caysen at 1 month. November is their 7th month of age.
Ed is working 2 jobs to provide for his family and to keep Deborah home. Deborah has been pumping breastmilk for 7 months and would like to go another 5 more to keep cost down and give the boys the best food for health. Ed's greatest concern is leaving Deborah alone with the boys while he is off at work, he travels about 6 times a month. Hired help would be nice, for now they are trusting God to bring in volunteers. They both had compact cars before, but they sold Deborahs car to buy the necessary minivan.
Everything the family buys now comes in 3's and whenever they go to a doctors appointment it's 3 times the expense. His side of the family lives in south San Diego and Deborah's live in Lancaster so they are doing this without the help of immediate family. God's family though has been an huge blessing to us.
